The shortlist for the national Hospital Radio Awards has been released.

The 10 awards categories include best male/female presenters as well as station of the year, best special event, and the HBA volunteer of the year.

The awards ceremony will be held on the 31st March 2012 in Northampton as part of their annual conference.

A hospital radio DJ is launching an attempt to break the Chris Moyle’s record by being on air for 65 hours.

DJ Craig James is from Bay Trust Radio. His attempt, which starts at 9am on Tuesday, has already been featured on ITV’s Granada. He is attempting to raise £2,000 for the station which broadcasts to 3 hospitals across South Cumbria and North Lancashire.

Chris Moyles currently holds the world record for the longest live broadcast at 52 hours.
