Tonight is the culmination of another year of hard work by hospital radio volunteers across the country!
This year’s National Hospital Radio Awards are happening tonight in Northampton and are organised and supported by the Hospital Broadcasting Association during their annual conference.
The categories this year are as follows:
Station of the Year
Male Presenter of the Year
Female Presenter of the Year
Best Speech Package
Best Specialist Music Programme
The John Whitney Award
HBA Volunteer of the Year
The awards will begin from 9pm tonight and are being presented by Sean Dunderdale, the Press Officer at the HBA. We asked how his nerves were pre-show, and he told us that ‘all was cool- amazing what wine can do for you’. There’s one strategy for presenting the awards!
The mood is already excited for tonight’s awards. Kev Williams, presenter at Hospital Radio Bedside, is nominated in the Best Specialist Music Category. He has been tweeting us before the event, telling us that there is no rivalry between the stations and he hasn’t even thought of winning as he is just glad to be nominated.
You can follow the liveblog of the event here or follow the hashtag #hbauk2012 on twitter. We will be tweeting during the event so make sure you Follow @communityraedio. Do follow us on Facebook as well!
Good luck to all the nominees!
